Cleo spent her childhood in the beautiful shore side community of the Bay of Plenty, New Zealand. It was there that Cleo’s love of the water was born. She entered the tourism industry when she started working as a tour guide on New Zealand’s only Active Marine Volcano, White Island. Access to White Island was via boat which is ultimately what lead her into the yachting industry.
The travelling bug led Cleo to Fort Lauderdale where she landed a job on her first yacht working her way up to Chief Stewardess over the course of 8 years. Not only did Cleo keep the interior running but she was also involved in new construction projects and award winning refit work. She was fortunate enough to cruise areas such as the South Pacific, Mediterranean, US East Coast, Caribbean and Bahamas.
Here at Fairport Yacht Support, Cleo uses the same attention to detail when sifting through crew compliance matters and insures all of the correct crew certificates are aboard to meet manning levels and safety regulations. She keeps up to date with all of the changing regulations and makes sure crew have all of the necessary qualifications required to be on board.
Cleo not only gained worldly travel while working in yachting but she also met her husband, Hadrian who she also worked with. When Sterling, their son was born in 2008 she gave up the sea life to raise him while Hadrian continues in the industry as a Captain. Now her travels are with her family to their homes or family’s homes in Montana, France, and New Zealand.
