Technical Yacht Manager
Angus was raised in the coastal town of Knysna, South Africa. It was here that he initially procured his love for the sea, spending many hours sailing at the local yacht club and scuba diving.
Joining the National Sea Rescue Institute at an early age led Angus to attain the esteemed position of Rescue Coxswain. After graduation, he served three years in the South African Navy as a diesel technician on Submarines, which upon completion of his service, he returned to Knysna to manage the technical division of a large, highly regarded Marine business. The allure of international travel, however, led him to Florida to work in the yachting industry.
To get his foot in the door, Angus took a position as a deckhand on his first yacht. However, his eagerness to learn paired with substantial boating knowledge and expertise, swiftly afforded him an engineering position aboard a larger vessel. In 2006 Angus decided to give up his “permanent sea legs” to pursue a position ashore in the management department at International yacht Collection.
His affinity for the technical aspects of yachting, combined with superb people skills gained from years in the service industry, has helped him to excel in the world of yacht management.
Angus currently lives in Ft. Lauderdale with his wife, Jill, and two daughters, Alice and Lila.
